Uses of Naturopathy

Naturopathy is the practice of natural medicine using various modalities to treat and prevent illness. Naturopaths are trained in anatomy, physiology, herbal medicine, nutrition, diet and lifestyle recommendations, supplements, flower essences, mineral therapy, homeopathy, hair and tongue or nail analysis, iris diagnosis, counseling and massage.

Naturopaths treat the individual as a whole, aiming to find the cause of disease rather than treat the signs and symptoms the illness may present with. A naturopath will educate and motivate patients to take responsibility for their own wellbeing through healthy attitude, lifestyle and diet.

It is great to see a Naturopath not just in times of illness, but for a wellness consultation for a plan to optimise health. Naturopaths can help to support some acute illnesses such as colds and flu’s, they can support chronic illnesses, or see a Naturopath to help you to stay on track with fine tuning your nutrition or for a good wellness plan.

A Naturopath can assist the health of your whole family. Whether you want to boost energy, improve digestion, balance hormones, moods, skin health, boost immunity, pre-conception, pregnancy, weight management, sexual health disorders, stress and anxiety management, sleeping problems, and so much more!

Traditionally, Naturopathy focuses on gentle, non-invasive therapies that enhance the healing process. Naturopathy is also very effective at treating acute and chronic health issues. Naturopathy aims to:

• Minimize acute symptoms
• Support the body’s vital force (capacity to self-heal)
• Re-balance the system so that illness is less likely to occur in the future
• Educate the patient to look after their own health and the health of their family.
